Discrete Mathematics for Computer Science (CS 103A) is the first in a series of two CS courses about discrete mathematics (CS 103B is the second course in the CS 103 track). It is generally offered in the fall and winter.

Units and requirements[]

The course grants 3 units. CS 106 is listed as a prerequisite, though there is no programming in the course.

CS 103A and CS 103B constitute CS 103, the discrete math requirement for many CS and Symbolic Systems Department programs. The CS 103 article discusses the prerequisite requirements fulfilled by the course.
