The Department of Biological Sciences is dedicated to the study of biology at Stanford.
Major research interests of the department can be roughly divided into four areas:
- Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, & Genetics
- Plant Biology
- Population and Evolutionary Biology and Ecology
- Marine Biology
The department offers a minor program, a major program granting a B.S., a coterminal program granting a M.S., a terminal program granting a M.S., a doctoral program granting a Ph.D., courses designed for the non-major.
